There was no case filed against me: Remo D'Souza

Remo D'Souza was in trouble a few days back when the income tax department landed at his office in Lokhandwala for allegedly not paying a service tax of Rs 35 lakh. The choreographer admits that the amount was pending, but he refused that he delayed it on purpose.

According to Remo, he wasn't at fault as the delay took place due to unavoidable circumstances. `I was away from town for some work. I had issued the cheque before Diwali and it was stuck for clearance due to back-to-back holidays,` adds Remo.

It is said that with his various projects, the choreographer-turned-director earned Rs 3 crore and was supposed pay the tax on it which he didn't pay on time. He states that his team had met the officials who visited his office and have co-operated with them in all ways possible.

`There was no case filed against me as it was just a case of miscommunication between my team and the officials. We met them and have resolve everything now.`
