After Shahid, now Varun walks out of 'Milan Talkies'

The casting woes for Ekta Kapoor's upcoming film continues

Varun Dhawan has apparently turned down Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies. The Student Of The Year actor was offered the Ekta Kapoor production after Shahid Kapoor walked out of the project as he was keen that an A-List actress be cast opposite him.

Following the signing of Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead, Shahid had made a quick exit. Earlier, Imran Khan was slated to feature in the film. The actor, however, was out of the film after the Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara and Ekta controversy.

According to a source, `Varun was approached for two projects by Balaji, one was Main Tera Hero which Varun's father David Dhawan is directing and Milan Talkies. As he had dates for one, he couldn't do Milan Talkies at that time and Shahid Kapoor was taken.`
Adds the source, `With Milan Talkies been delayed, Ekta was considering Varun again. But he apparently refused because he has Karan Johar's Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, followed by Sriram Raghavan's and Mohit Suri's untitled films,` the source added.

When asked if Varun refused to be a part of the project Ekta said, `You seriously need to check facts.`
